Can a McKenzie Friend come with me to Barnet Civil and Family Courts Centre?
Yes. You let the court know before your hearing that you’d like a McKenzie Friend with you. I prepare the short CV the judge may ask for, and permission is almost always given.
Do you only help on the day of the hearing?
No. Most of my work happens before the hearing: understanding your case, preparing forms and statements, and making sure you know what to expect on the day.
What if my hearing is by video?
